I want to surround myself with people who see me as their best friend even if they haven’t met me in person. The kind of people that want real change but that either don’t have anywhere to go or feel like they don’t have anywhere to go to get the assistance they need. People that understand that I’m not just honest, caring, solicitous, loyal, safe, that I have integrity, and that I’m all about transcending adversity. That ultimately, I’m the type of person that is easily their best friend.
People often tell me that I’m easy to talk to because they believe that they can tell me anything and get advice or guidance in clarifying issues they’re facing. I’ve had people reach out to me via social media in an effort to gather advice on a multitude of topics from how to come out to religious parents to where to call to get services for their disabled child. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not Oprah, so I won’t sit there and cry with you but I will definitely encourage you to make your best decisions and live your best life as defined solely by you.
